A Recap of the 2024 Summer Skateboard Lessons with the City of Beacon

We were thrilled to host another amazing summer skateboard session in partnership with the City of Beacon. One of the most rewarding aspects of the clinic was seeing how it sparked a newfound love for skateboarding in many of our students. For some, it was their first introduction to the sport, and it was a joy to witness the passion and determination that each individual brought. They pushed themselves to learn new tricks, conquer challenges, and most importantly, have fun.

The clinic focused on teaching the fundamentals of skateboarding and ended with a fun-filled day of games and creative activities. The entire week focused on mastering the basics of skateboarding, and we are proud to say that by the end of the week, all of our students were comfortably riding their boards.

One of the highlights of the week was an intense game of skate limbo, which quickly became a favorite among the crew.

To cap off the week, students took part in an awesome tie-dye session, creating their own Connect Skateboarding shirts, and thanks to Pepper Grip, skaters were also able to design their very own griptape.

We take great pride in knowing that our Skate Program has played a role in nurturing the next generation of skaters. By providing a supportive and inclusive space for individuals to learn and grow, we hope to continue inspiring more people to embrace the joy and creativity that skateboarding has to offer.
