The East Fishkill Skatepark was a vital hub for local skateboarders, including myself. This is where I learned the basics of skating, progressed daily, and built lifelong friendships. We spent countless hours filming videos, sharing laughs, and making unforgettable memories. I'm proud to say that many of those friendships have stood the test of time.
However, as the years went by, the skatepark began to show brutal signs of wear and tear. The park became a safety hazard, leading to its tentative closure by East Fishkill.
That’s when our friend Tyler Spano, one of the owners at Intercounty Paving and fellow skater who grew up skating the park, stepped in. Recognizing the skatepark's significance to our community, Tyler and the East Fishkill Recreation took on the mission of restoring it to its former glory. With the massive help of dedicated volunteers, we moved ramps, fixed them up, and ensured everything was in prime condition and even gave the park a fresh new layout.
Special thanks to East Fishkill Recreation for seeing this project through to completion. We are super appreciative to all the volunteers for the hard work and commitment. The East Fishkill Skatepark is now safer and more enjoyable than ever before! We're stoked to get back in the park and skate again.
